I have taken a two other previous technology courses in High School. I took computer classes that were paired with my English classes so we could learn the appropriate way to write and learn all the fundamentals of how to use a computer. I learned how to use all the Microsoft programs including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Access. The first course we learned the basics on how to type properly the first year and in the second class we had to do projects through the programs. I also have had a computer in my house to use and learn from trying things out on my own with a laptop and a desktop.
I hope to learn new things on the computer through this class about how to teach using technology. Technology is a way to help the teacher use more tools to express topics through technology so they understand better. I hope to learn ways to do this so when I become a teacher I can use these tools to help the students understand more clear. I hope to learn more about the things I already know so I can become and expert in that aspect of teaching to be a better teacher.
After taking the learning style test today in class I learned what ways I learn better. I learned the I am and active learner rather than relective so I would rather do something invloving it rather than just talking about it. I also learned I am a sensing learner as opposed to a intuitive learner. The surevey also shows that I learn much better with pictures and objects I can see to help making me a visual learner. In being a visual I would rather see things than just have then talked about because they wont be as clear to me. So I learned that I am more of a visual and hands on learner as opposed to just sitting back and listening to the topics.

Patrick,

We will have to see if we can't come up with some ways to help those of you that already know Word and everything to move beyond the basics.

Good thoughts on your learning style. So far I've looked at 4 or 5 blogs and you seem to understand the most about the learning style test you took - or at least you communicated the most info about what you learned.

See if you can put a picture of yourself up on your blog.
