• This weeks entry will be covering material that was discussed in chapter 6 of the textbook. Technology or curriculum integration is the combination of all technology parts such as hardware and software together with each subject-related area of curriculum to enhance learning. This means using more technology in the classroom curriculums of todays schools. They are using computer, tvs, projectors, etc. to help integrate technology in the classroom since it is a big part of todays society. ASSURE model is procedural guide for planning and delivering instruction that intergrates technologies and media into the teaching process. A-Analyze the learner; S-State the onjectives; S-Select methods, media, and materials;U-Utilize methods, media, and materials; R-Require learner participation; E-Evaluate and revise. Learning theories provide frameworks for interpreting the conditions and observations of teaching and learning and provides the bridge between education and research.
• I acquired new skills this week inside and outside the classroom through the exercises and assignments. One of the new skills I learned this week was how to creat a wiki. We had to create a wiki and learnded how it was different from a blog. I can use this in the classroom to post things or have students create something since more than one person can edit a wiki. I also learned how to link your wiki to another wiki or a main page wiki. This will help if I ever have my students create there own wiki they can link it to my home and see all theres right through mine.
• The new skills I acquired this week goes hand in hand with some of the things I can use in my future career in creating wiki and linking them to others. This course is giving us a good backround on how to use a variety of different tools and concepts to help teach using technology. Since technology is a important part of society today its important to teach the teachers how to use the technologies to there potential. I will use some technology definitely when I teach so its good to learn all this stuff.

• This week I will be discussing topics covering information from chapter 5 of the textbook. Digital Media application is the use of digital media technology in entertainment, education, or business. Examples of these are interactive advertisements for jobs, or skill based applications. Educational software applications are computer software products used to support teaching and learning of subject related content. Examples of these are drill-and-practice software, educational games, tutorials, etc. These both play a big role in education in and outside the classroom.
• I acquired some new skills this week in and outside of the classroom that will assist me in teaching. I learned what educational software applications were and how they can be used to help teach students. This will help me show students different more interesting ways of learning. I also learned that digital media applications are everywhere in todays world. They educate people outside of the classroom and most do not even realize it. This will help me because I can give different examples than just the structured in the classroom examples in technology.
• The new skills I acquired also have a part in my future career as a teacher. The new skills showed me knew tools of tehnology that I can use in the classroom and outside to help teacher students and make them understand better. We also learned how create our own websites which is a good form of technology that I can use when I become a teacher so my parents can check out whats going on with there children.

Blog 5

• This week I will be discussing information from chapter 2 of the textbook. There is many kinds od internet services used today in the world: Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, and Home Networks. Through these there are other branches including wireless, broadband access. Another topic is the WWW sites used today which stands for World Wide Web and is a farely new aspect of the internet which consists on different hyperlinks built in to documents to link them to the internet making the WWW sites. Another topic is search techniques but today there is websites specifically for searching the internet such as google, aol search, etc. you just type in what you want to find at one of these websites and all the possibly results come up and you pick the closest to what you were looking for.
• I acquired new skills this week outside the classroom and inside throught the assignments and exercises given. This week I learned how to search the web for things I need to complete assignments. I had to do a web hunt to search for things I may have used in different lessons as a teacher. I also learned what sites were good to search for things and the different sub categories inside the sites to find them. This is important because I know what sites and how to search the web for things I may need in the future in lesson plans to teach.
• I discovered some new technology this week in the web hunt assignment. I did not realize there was sub categories on google to help you find picture, maps, etc. to give you a more specific search. This can come in hand great when Im teaching it will save me time and give me better results when I am looking for stuff online. I also learned how the internet works by reading chapter 2 in the book and how the WWW sites work.

Blog 4

• This portion covers some of the important topics in chapter 4 of the textbook. Input devices are any hardware that permits you to enter programs, data, user responses and commands into a computer (keyboard, mouse, etc). Output devices are any part of the computer that can give information to the user (monitors, printers, speakers, etc.). Storage media and devices are the things you can save programs, documents, or assignments with (floppy disks, zip disks, hard disks, etc.).
• The new technology I learned to use this week consisted of programs on how to creat concept maps. I learned how to use the program Inspiration which is a technology on the computer to create concept maps when teaching. I can use comcept maps to teach how games are suppose to be played in physical education.
• I learned some new skills this week in and out of the classroom. I acquired the skills on how to create concept maps which is a good way to teach students certain topics. I also acquired the skill to creat mental mapping a similar but yet different idea of concept mapping. This too can be used to discuss topics with future students in the classroom. Last I learned how to use the program Inspiration which can help me creat concept maps to use when teaching.

• I learned new skills this week in class and outside due to the assignments and teaching of the professor. One of the new skills I acquired was all the things you can do on Word which there is too many too list. I also learned how to do a screen shot on Word with clt V. Another skill is that I learned how a blog is different than a standard web page. This are all useful because I can use them all in helping to teach students better.
• Assistive technologies are accomidations or modifications to technology to complete the task through the use of a computer. One assistive technology is a microphone hooked up to the computer. This helps those who can not type properly they can speak into the microphone and it will type up what he/she is saying. This helps those who have disabilities due to handicaps or anything like that.
• I missed this class because I was hurt so Im not sure how to get to the Integration corner on the textbook website.

Blog 2

• This blog is over a few topics of chapter 1 in the textbook. The ARCS Model and Digital students is a model broken down into four categories: attention, relevance, challenge/confidence, and satisfaction/stress are different ways teens are motivated to do work. Another main part of the chapter is how schools use computers in todays society. They use computers to make school websites so parent and others can view what is going on at the school. Another way is for teaching students how to use computers and programs properly to get a good career. Computers are a big role in education today and thats a good thing because they are very helpful.
• I acquired some new skills this week in and out of class to help for my teaching career. I learned how to use Word and graphics to create tests or quizzes. I had some prior knowledge in how to create tests and quizzes but I acquired more in depth concepts and tools. I learned how to do a page break when working on word and graphics assignments. I also learned shortcut keys in the SAM exercise we had to practice on the computers for homework.
• I learned how to better use technology this week in word and graphics through the SAM assignment. I learned how to use more shortcut keys to save time on assigments. I now know how to create a test or quiz by doing the homework assignment so when I become a teacher I have already had practiced on the basics and just will need to perfect it. I also learned how computers are a big part of education today and will only become a bigger part in the future.
